Zelda LEGO, Ganondorf, Leaks, Nintendo

There is, according to leaks and rumors, a new The Legend of Zelda LEGO set coming next year. It’s not confirmed, but this would not be a surprise given the success of the Great Deku Tree set in 2024. It was the first Nintendo partnership with LEGO surrounding the Zelda series, and it is implausible that they’ll end it there. That doesn’t seem likely with all the leaks, more of which have just come out.

Although it’s all still based on a leak (we don’t even technically know for sure that it’s going to happen), we now know a little bit more about what Nintendo has planned for the rumored new Zelda LEGO set. According to the latest from a Brick Tap member, it’s going to be another Ocarina of Time set. The Great Deku Tree was a two-in-one set that could either be built for Ocarina or Breath of the Wild. This one appears to be centered on Ocarina exclusively.

It is also rumored that it’ll be a diorama featuring Ganondorf, the main villain of the franchise and that game. Ganondorf is one of the most iconic villains in gaming history, so this is not all that surprising. There are ample opportunities from the game, too.

LEGO could recreate the first scene in which Ganon is revealed to Link, which happens as the Demon King is chasing Princess Zelda out of the castle and when Link receives the fabled Ocarina. They could use the Phantom Ganon boss fight from early on in the game as well as the final battle between Link and Ganon. Presumably, they won’t use his pig form, which is the final phase of that final boss fight.

More Info

The leak also indicates that the piece count will be 1,003. For reference, the Great Deku Tree had 2,500 pieces and was sold for $300. Using that as a frame of reference, we can estimate that this rumored set would be about half the price at $150. The leak noted that March 1 is the supposed release date for this set.

The source for this rumor, which is in the video above, also revealed several other LEGO rumors for the upcoming year. Not only is The Legend of Zelda getting a new set (reportedly), but the Pokémon set is going to have one release for $650. There’s also reportedly going to be TMNT, Lord of the Rings, and so much more next year. It could be a huge year for the brick-based brand.

None of this (except the existence of the Pokémon set) has officially been confirmed by Nintendo or LEGO. And with that in mind, March isn’t all that far off, so if this is real, an announcement and pre-order option should be coming sooner rather than later. But since it’s a leak, there’s always a chance it’s not true. Leaks have to be treated as speculative until an official source confirms it or the leaked item or event actually appears. In this case, it’s going to be announced officially before it just shadow drops on March 1.

Conclusion

It’s been a good few years to be a The Legend of Zelda fan. From Tears of the Kingdom and Echoes of Wisdom to the awesome Great Deku Tree Zelda LEGO set, there’s been plenty of content. With a new Hyrule Warriors game coming out and the live-action movie set for 2027 (and remasters/new games coming at some point), the future is so bright for fans of this series. That includes the LEGO set and the idea that if there are two sets, more will come down the line.
